Overview

This guide provides an introduction to some common features of Microsoft Excel.  It also offers some helpful tips and introductions to more advanced features and tools in Microsoft Excel. 

This guide references Microsoft Excel 2010 in the PC version.  The Mac version has the same features, but they are accessed differently.

Moving Through Your Spreadsheet

There are several ways to move through your spreadsheet. 

  • Use the scrollbar and mouse to scroll through the spreadsheet similar to other documents and web pages. 
  • Click directly on the the cell (box) you wish to edit.  
  • Use the arrow keys - Click a cell in the spreadsheet and navigate to different cells with the arrow keys.
  • Type in the cell number and letter in the Name Box to go to a specifc cell  (see D5, below - left corner above the spreadsheet cells, next to the Formula Box
